Only up for 1 week and the sun has stained the exterior curtains to an orangey yellow color on the inside of the fabric that was exposed. The piece is sturdy and what I was expecting but the curtains are definitely an issue. The tie back straps are very confusing to figure out. You would think it would be something simple to just wrap around and velcro but no matter how you do it, the rough velcro side is always exposed and pulls on the screen netting.I don't usually write reviews, but after my recent gazebo experience I thought I would put my two cents out there, I researched for a new gazebo for several months and finally landed on the MELLCOM 12x14 foot Hardtop Gazebo, I read a lot of reviews on a lot of different gazebos and found most of the reviews and information to be scary, I can only speak to my own personal experience concerning the MELLCOM 12x14 foot hardtop gazebo, I opened two of the four boxes that did not include the roof panels, I laid those parts out in order, then I built the four support columns and the Two roof support pieces ahead of time, the following day a good friend of mine came over and we got started on building the gazebo, parts were all well marked, the instruction manual was very good and easy to follow, we started around 8am, we were completely done and finished at 2:48pm that same afternoon, we followed the instructions in order and had absolutely no problems, with the frame or installing the roof panels. NONE!This is a great gazebo for the price, I personally couldn't be happier with this product, if you are looking for a well built gazebo, at a decent price, I suggest that you take a look at the MELLCOM 12x14 foot gazebo.Bernard WCarlsbad CA.This review is for the MELLCOM 12' x 14' Hardtop Gazebo, Iron Double Roof Gazebo with Curtains and Netting. First off, this product comes in 4 boxes (A,B,C and D) weighing 127.5 lbs each. The first box you need is C which contains the instructions. The instructions are not great, just pictures, but if you look closely, they provide the information you need to get this assembly done. And it is not that difficult. Consider, I am 74 years old, 5'4" tall and weigh 157 lbs. and I assembled the whole thing by myself in a total time of about 14 hours. However, I assembled this gazebo on a 12' x 14' wood deck, 10 feet above ground. I could not walk around the outside which would have made the job a lot easier not to mention the numerous trips up and down the stairs. It was a challenge but I enjoyed every minute. I am telling you this so as to assure you there is no need to fear this project. Yes, 2 or 3 people could easily do it in 8 hours or less provided they have basic assembly skills, a little common sense, some ingenuity and easy accessibility to all 4 sides. I was impressed with the design and engineering of this gazebo as it is well made. It is an awesome looking and sturdy product which I truly recommend. My wife loves it and so do I. Now for the next project....I am so happy with this purchase. Came in 6 extremely heavy boxes. My husband and father put this up in 1 day. I was not there for the install but if they can figure it out, I’m sure it’s not too hard;) I hung 2 fans from the ceiling. It has made the backyard my favorite place to be!!This can in 3 packages over a 2 week period. Definitely need a professional to assemble. We hired a handyman and it took 2 days for them to put it up. The gazebo itself is awesome but it is definitely not a project for just anyone to undertake. This took me less than 8 hours working alone to assemble. As with most things coming out of China, the assembly instructions are pictures, only, so here are some tips:1. Don't bother with the included "tools" (give them to your kids to play with!); all the screws & bolts are 10mm hex heads, so get yourself a 10mm metric nut driver--there are over 200 screws on this, so use your powered driver, but be sure you have a 10mm METRIC nut driver, it'll make a breeze of the work.2. The instructions do say to leave the screws & bolts :loose: until the very end. That is an IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION for making sure that everything fits nice and tightly. HOWEVER, when you begin installing the roof panels, tighten as you work from the top down.3. When installing the roof panels, MAKE SURE your install the lower retaining parts AS YOU GO! The panels will not hold in the slots without the lower retaining part SCREWED into the structural frames as you go along. This is a very impressive structure; well make and engineered. Should last many years!
